Geoff Campbell

Geoff Campbell is a writer for Round Table Companies living in New Orleans, where he has fallen in love with the city’s cuisine, music and joie de vivre.

Prior to joining RTC he was a full-time lecturer at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he taught introductory media writing, reporting, strategic communication, and a Communication Department capstone course. Geoff also served as an adjunct journalism instructor at Texas Christian University.

Geoff is the author of seven non-fiction books, and he wrote a chapter for a media writing textbook—Writing for media audiences: A handbook for multi-platform news—first published in fall 2012 by Kendall Hunt. He also served as a researcher for Jeff Guinn on his book, Our Land Before We Die: The Proud Story of the Seminole Negro, winner of the 2003 Texas Book Award and the TCU Distinguished Award for the best book about Texas.

Geoff has extensive professional writing experience that includes work for weekly newsletters, daily newspapers, magazines, a bank trade association, a global eye care company, a public relations firm, and a wire service.  He worked in Washington for nearly 10 years, covering Congress, the executive branch, the U.S. Supreme Court, and municipal finance.

Geoff received awards for outstanding teaching from the UT-Arlington College of Liberal Arts in 2011 and 2013, and he was a runner-up for the honor in 2010. In both 2010 and 2011 he was nominated for the UT-Arlington Provost’s Award for Teaching Excellence. He earned certification as a catechist in both the Archdiocese of Washington (D.C.) and the Archdiocese of Fort Worth.
